Meet Dr. Bialik

Dr. Scott Bialik, the Dentist for Kids in Brookfield CT

Dear Parent,

Selecting a pediatric doctor or dentist can be one of the most difficult decisions a parent has to make.  Your child’s health is paramount, and you want to be sure that the professional you choose will have your son’s or daughter’s safety at heart.

If you take your children to a Pediatrician, shouldn’t you also bring them to a Pediatric Dentist?

Pediatric Dentistry is the specialty of dentistry that focuses on the oral health and unique needs of young people. After completing a four-year dental school curriculum, at Columbia University, and two additional years of rigorous training at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, I was awarded a certificate in Pediatric Dentist. This specialized program of study and hands-on experience prepared me to meet the unique needs of your infants, children and adolescents, including persons with special health care needs. Unfortunately in this day and age of insurance motivated treatment, the most important aspects of the patient / dental office relationship have fallen by the waste side. Not in our office though!

All treatment is performed without the need for Sedation, Drugs, Gas or Restraint.

My staff & I treat every patient as though they were our own. We wouldn’t like our children traumatized, drugged or tied down, and we expect that most parents feel the same way. We take pride in ourselves by gaining your child’s trust with a strong psychological approach that has been honed and tuned over many years of practice. Pleasant visits to the dental office promote the establishment of trust and confidence in your child that will last a lifetime. Our goal is to help all children feel good about visiting the dentist and teach them how to care for their teeth. From our special office designs, to our communication style, our main concern is what is best for your child.

When was the last time you got to sit down with the dentist and discuss all aspects of your child’s oral health, growth, and have all your questions satisfactorily answered?

All treatment is performed with Parents present. Your child is precious to you and we want you involved with all aspects of treatment. Furthermore, everything we do is discussed with our parents in advance so that there will be no surprises. Then after the treatment is performed there is always an exit consultation to discuss what we did and what the next visit will be. In fact we probably spend more time discussing things with the parents than the actual hands on time with treating the patient

Did you know that dental radiographs should only be taken if your dentist suspects the presence of a lesion?

It is a well know fact that the cancerous effect of radiation is cumulative over the lifetime of an individual. We do our best to decrease radiation exposure to our patients and do not routinely expose children to dental radiographs. We also employ a number of other alternatives procedures (Dental Laser, Translumination, etc) in place of typical high radiation dental radiographs. In our office, dental radiographs are only taken after Dr. Bialik (aka Dr. Scott) has already performed an oral exam and has discussed the need for them with the parent or guardian.

How long has Dr. Scott been practicing?

We open our doors in Brookfield in 1997 and have been servicing the Greater Danbury area ever since. We have quite a few patients from our surrounding areas including Bethel, Danbury, Litchfield, New Milford, New Fairfield, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Southbury, and Wilton CT. Our reputation for excellence of care & compassion has also reached out to patients in NY from Brewster, Carmel, Poughkeepsie, Putnam County, North and South Salem, & the rest of upper Westchester. We also see patients that travel to visit us from Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, The Virgin Islands, England, China, Japan, etc.

We also pride ourselves in undertaking a strong Preventive Regimen in our office.

Your child will be shown how to brush properly. If your child is too young or unable to brush on their own, then we will instruct you how to best take care of your child’s mouth. We stress the importance of good home oral care along with the importance of Sealants and other preventive modalities so that our patients will experience many cavity free years. That is our guarantee to you. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to write:
